When Can Baby Kick Be Experienced During Pregnancy?
Almost every pregnant woman is eager to know when she will be able to experience that very first kick by the baby in her womb. The baby may seem to kick along to the beat of instrument music and also turn somersaults.
A great delight
One of the most amazing experiences for any pregnant woman is the first baby movement in the womb and to feel the baby’s in-utero aerobatics. In case, the woman is pregnant for the first time in her life, then she is likely to fell initial fluttering movements within 16 – 22 weeks of pregnancy. But, if she has had pregnancy before, then she is sure to have recognized the sings much earlier. Movements of the baby can be easily viewed on the ultrasound even during the 10 week gestation period. The tumbling baby is regarded to be a healthy baby. Movements in the fetal region do play a significant role to develop the bones and muscles. It is not like that of what the gym workout does!
Doing away with the concerns
There are many women, who may grow concerned if the usually active fetus is found to become sluggish than before, especially during the 3rd semester. As a matter of fact, such concerns are cited to be quite common to majority of the pregnant women to take appointments with their midwife or gynecologists. With the nearing of the birth, the baby is likely to grow and will not have much space, thus making him/her to kick less than before and to roll more when compared to the trimester period.
Reduced fetal movements
In about 15% of all pregnancies, RFM or reduced fetal movements tend to occur. Studies have shown clearly that it is during the first time pregnancies that RFM (First Fetal Movement) is expected to take place, when compared to subsequent pregnancies. However, it does not mean that women having delivered babies before cannot experience it. In case, there is noticed decrease in baby’s movements, then the healthcare provider is to be notified about the same. The pregnant woman is likely to be asked to perform a ‘kick count’ every day at the home.
How to count baby kicks?
Kicks can be counted in different ways. The qualified, experienced and knowledgeable midwife or physician can help to know how! These days, one can also come across free apps to find out the baby kick rate. The pregnant mother is to lie on her left side and count. It is stated to be a position, where the fetus is considered to be much more active. During the 3rd trimester, 10 movements, rolls and flutters and kicks is considered to be quite normal an hour. There are times; the baby can be expected to roll more frequently within half an hour. Even if the count is not ten movements hourly, the person should not panic. The baby could probably be sleeping. Have something to drink or eat and count the movements again after an hour.
